研讀聖經的原則:

1. 你必須做基本的研讀
2. 你必須記錄所研讀的結果

基礎經文分析法:

基本步驟:

1. 閱讀上下文，並注意其分段。如果決定段落很困難，則參考較近代的聖經譯本。
2. 注意每一個你觀察到，或是任何有可能的生活應用。挖掘問題，並盡量具體的描述它。未來你進行其他步驟時，時常會用到這個方式。
3. 用你自己的話簡短的將這幾節經文重新寫出來。試著表達它要傳達的核心訊息。
4. 將這三個概念與聖經中類似的概念互相對照。聖經最好的住是就是聖經本身。找一些有助於解釋，說明或澄清的經文。

範例:帖撒羅尼迦前書 五:16-18

(O) 三項命令:　喜樂，導告，謝恩

(O) 這三向命力都有修飾詞: 常常 不住 凡事。

(O) 這是神在基督耶穌裡，向你們鎖定的旨意。這個句子是指這三項命令而言。

(O) 我們可以在不改變這句話的意思之下，將這三個修辭互相交換，如：常常喜樂，常常禱告，常常謝恩。

(A) 18節 "謝恩"不是我的強項,因為我時常抱怨。

(A) 我有時候喜樂，而不是常常喜樂。

( I ) 這些修辭都有"不停止"的概念：也就是說，我們在任何時候都要遵守這三項命令。

( I ) 第17節可以用字面的意義來解釋嗎? 我們有可能真的"不停"的禱告嗎? 亦或是保羅在這裡提到的事一種態度?
